Is there a minimum or maximum rental period for furnished temporary accommodation in Munich?

6-month limit: In order to avoid being suspected of illegal holiday rentals (accommodating guests), a rental period of at least 6 months is considered legally safe in Munich.
Exception (3 to 6 months): Rentals for periods between 3 and 6 months are often permitted if there is a verifiable professional or educational reason (e.g., project work, internship, visiting professorship). In this case, the tenant must establish their primary residence there for this period.
There is no maximum rental period, but it is usually two years.

How do I get my deposit back?

It is recommended to create a deposit account. When the apartment is handed over and approved by the landlord, the deposit account will be released again.

What to do if the equipment is defective?

Please contact the landlord of the property directly. If you cannot reach the landlord, we will be happy to receive reports of defects or damage and forward them to the responsible landlord.

What does final cleaning mean?
